Cookies
1.ABOUT THIS POLICY
This policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use on this website, what they do, and how you can control them.
It applies to medicalclaimdirect.co.uk. Our other websites operate under their own cookie policies and their own consent settings - a choice you make here does not carry across to them.
For information about how we handle personal data more generally, see our [Privacy Policy].
Cookies are used by NJS Law Limited, trading as Medical Claim Direct, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15170704, registered office St George’s Chambers, St Georges Place, Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK11 8BT. NJS Law Limited is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, SRA number 8006550.
2.WHAT COOKIES ARE
Last updated: 28/07/2026 at 9:28am
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies - including pixels, tags, web beacons, local storage and device fingerprinting - work in comparable ways. In this policy, ‘‘cookies’’ covers all of them.
Cookies can be first-party(set by us) or third-party (set by another organisation whose services appear on our site, such as an analytics or advertising provider). They can be session cookies, which are deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain for a set period.
Some cookies hold information that can identify you, either on its own or when combined with other data. Where that is the case, the information is personal data and our Privacy Policy applied to it as well as this policy.
3.YOUR CONSENT
Only strictly necessary cookies run automatically. Everything else - analytics, advertising, functional and preference cookies - is set only if you agree to it.
When you first visit our site you will see a consent banner. You can accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or choose category by category. Rejecting non-essential cookies will not stop you using the site, submitting an enquiry, or contacting us.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the [COOKIE SETTINGS LINK - e.g. ‘‘Cookie Settings’’ link in the website footer]. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and takes effect immediately for future browsing. It does not undo data already collected while your consent was in place.
4.THE CATEGORIES WE USE
Strictly necessary. These allow the site to function - page navigation, security, load balancing, form submission and remembering your cookie choices. They cannot be switched off through our banner. Some of these cookies contain a unique identifier, which may be personal data.
Statistics and analytics. These help us understand how the site is used overall. Because of these restrictions in section 5, they operate in a deliberately limited form on this website. Set only with your consent.
Marketing and advertising. These help us measure whether our advertising is working. Because of the restrictions in section 5, they operate in a deliberately limited form on this website. Set only with your consent.
Functional. These support non-essential features such as embedded video. Set only with your consent.
Preferences. These remember display settings so you don’t have to set them each visit. Set only with your consent.
5.HOW WE PROTECT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR HEALTH
This section is the most important part of this policy.
Every service is described on this website concerns medical treatment, injury or illness. That means the simple fact of which page you have viewed can reveal something about your health - which is information the law gives special protection.
We therefore apply the following restrictions across this entire website, and they apply whether or not you have consented to advertising or analytic cookies:
We do not send the address of our service pages to any advertising or analytics provider. Page paths are removed or replaced before any measurement data leaves this site.
We do not use pages viewed on this site to build advertising audiences, retargeting lists, lookalike audiences or targeting criteria of any kind.
We do not combine anything you tell us about your health, condition or treatment with any advertising or analytics data.
We do not pass information about your condition, symptoms, diagnosis or treatment to any advertising platform, in any form, including hashed or encoded form.
Where we measure the performance of our marketing, we do so only at a level that cannot reveal anything about an individual’s health - for example, total visits to the website as a whole, or the total number of enquiries received, with no page-level or condition-level detail attached.

7.THIRD PARTIES WHO SET COOKIES ON OUR SITE
The following organisations may set cookies on this website where you have consented. Each is responsible for its own use of the information it collects, and its own privacy policy applies.
The restrictions in section 5 apply to all of them.

Some of these providers process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards are applied as described in our Privacy Policy.
8.MANAGING COOKIES IN YOUR BROWSER
Separately from our consent banner, you can control cookies through your browser settings - blocking them, deleting them, or asking to be warned before they are set. Each browser handles this differently, and the help section of your browser will explain how.
Blocking all cookies through your browser may stop parts of this site working properly. Browser control are also specific to the device and browser you are using, so you would need to repeat them elsewhere.
Your browser may also offer a ‘‘Do Not Track’’ setting. There is no agreed industry standard for how sites should respond to it, and we do not currently respond to it. Our consent banner remains the way to control cookies on this site.
9.CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy when the cookies we use change, or when the law or guidance changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Where a change is significant, we will ask you to confirm your preferences again.
